Olive with a touch of Yellow - Spring Outerwear

It is May now but still unbearably cold in the UK. On Sunday it had only 14 degrees Celsius and I was freezing at my stall at Portobello Market. I would not be able to survive without my trusty Marc Aurel parka my parents gifted me for Christmas.

I usually am not a big olive colour fan but I think it really works with my yellow cross body bag from Whistles (last season).
This outerwear outfit is my current go-to as it keeps me warm and is comfortable. I am also wearing my trusty Topshop Jamie Jeans which is a favourite for over two years now. I love that they are slightly cropped and have the perfect high waist cut: not too high and not too low.
On my lips is my trusty Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Hyde Park.

I really wish the weather is going to get better soon. Fingers crossed.

Review: MAC Spiked Eye Brows and Superslick Liquid Lids

MAC Spiked Eye Brows and Superslick Liquid Eye Liner

MAC does have quite the names right? Spiked Eye Brows and Superslick Liner?
I got those two little products at the Airport when I went to Austria some time ago. I really needed an eyebrow pencil at that time as my trusty Tom Ford one ran out after a year.
So I went for Spiked as the make-up artist was wearing it and recommended it and it looked like the right colour for me.

And it was.

There is nothing else really to say about Spiked except it was a lot smaller that I expected when unpacking it. Its a good brow pencil and will last you all day. Nevertheless as a gadget I really do miss the Tom ford one I had previously as it not only had an amazing elongated square shape which really draws in realistic fake hairs, but it also had an inbuilt sharpener and a brush which I used regularly. Both pencils are twist up if I have not mentioned that yet.
I bought the MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliner on the same day reason being that I still have not found the perfect black eyeliner. There is always something wrong with them, either the application does not work as I want or the colour pay-off is crap, or they wont last on my lids.

The Superslick Liquid Eyeliner is good but not the perfect one for me.

It has a flexible sponge tip applicator which has a very fine point. I like that. It does last all day and doesn't budge. I like that too. But it is one of those eyeliner where the line that you created on your lid will be erased by going over a second time. Do you know what I mean? So it does take a bit of patience applying it cause I NEVER can do a nice flick with just one swipe.
Additionally I am not quite sure about the finish. It's very glossy. Some people might love that, but I would prefer if it was matte.

Please let me know if you found an eyeliner that is amazing and fits all the points I mentioned above! :)

My go-to Winter outerwear combination to look cute and keep warm

My go-to winter 2013 outfit
Karen Millen puffy coat
$480 - houseoffraser.co.uk

American apparel skinny jeans
$105 - selfridges.com

Zara blue hat
zara.com

Silver Necklace Sterling Silver Jewellery by thelipstickdiaries
$32 - etsy.com

As some of you might know, I have been working outside a lot selling my jewellery at Christmas markets and other outdoor markets around London. Sometimes I have to be hours outside and a warm outfit is essential.
I love the warm puffy coat I found at Karen Millen because it just fits great and has a tight neckline, so no cold air can get in.

I usually wear my trusty American Apparel easy jeans as they are tight around the ankles so I can wear my two pairs of socks. I am nor really a sheepskin boot fan at all.
I actually think they make everyone walk in a funny way. But they are the only boots I found that actually keep me warm all day. I got mine a couple of years ago when they were on sale.

How are you keeping warm in the cold?

Friday's Nail Combo: Honk If You Love OPI

Honk If You Love OPI - thelipstickdiaries
Rings are my designs

I have been loving really pointed nails that Rihanna, Jessie J and the likes have been sporting lately.
So there was no doubt that this would be a great nail shape for my jewellery photoshoot (more about that later). The colour was inspired by the lip colour we (Deniz and I) were planning to wear for one look so we could be all matchy matchy. OPI's "Honk If You Love OPI" was just the perfect colour to match the lop colour we chose. It is a lighter version of the old classic "Lincoln Park after Dark".
There are heaps of pictures sporting the stiletto nail on pinterest too, in case you want to check out the look more.

Top 5 Coats to Style the Cold Out!

1. Straight Cut Fur Coat from Mango £ 349.99 (Link!)
2. Marte Coat from Won Hundred £ 380 (Link!)
3. Double Breasted Wool Coat from Zara £ 69.99 (Link!)
4. Zulia Biker Jacket from All Saints £ 258 (Link!)
5. City Monument Coat from All Saints £ 278 (Link!)

I decided that October is a good month to research winter coats. Above are my top 5 favourite winter coats to style the cold out!

Number 1. is a real fur coat from Mango. I like the simplicity and elegance of it but I am not 100 % sure about the colour as I always find black is to harsh on me.

Number 2. is my absolute favourite! I love, love, love the design of this coat. All you need is grey or black accessories and you are very amazingly styled by just wearing this coat. I can already imagine myself pairing this with a black beanie a simple black scarf and boots. Unfortunately the price tag is quite a bit above my budget.

Number 3. seems really boring at first but this coat has an amazing colour and the price is unbeatable! I would jazz this coat up by adding a fur collar, a beanie and a tan coloured bag and boots. I really love those boots that I saw at Aldo.

Number 4. I love this biker Jacket from All Saints. It has the same look like that infamous Acne jacket everyone is raving about. I am not sure though if this will be warm enough for the winter months.

Number 5. I saw this coat last year in All Saints and loved it, It just drapes so beautifully around the body and is really high quality.

What is your favourite coat? Which one shall I get?
I am very close to either completely splurge on number 2 or go for number 3 and invest in those tan boots to go with it!

If I missed an amazing coat then please share below.
